Mr. Li is a partner of one of China’s most well-respected local law
firms, Jun He Law Offices, and is recognised as one of China’s leading
private equity lawyers.
Before coming back to China, Mr. Li worked with international law firms
in Boston and Tokyo for over six years, advising on corporate finance,
M&A, cross-border investment and dispute resolution. Since his return to
China in 1997, Mr. Li has represented numerous major domestic and
multinational corporations and investment banks and is particularly
experienced in China's oil, telecom and automobile sectors. Mr. Li has
advised several major private equity funds in the areas of corporate
restructuring, financing and securities offerings. His major recent
representations include China Unicom in its Hong Kong listing, the
Nissan-Dong Feng formation of the second largest joint automobile base
in China and the restructuring of Dong Feng's major assets, Haier / HK
CCT in an overseas share swap deal involving substantial assets in
mainland China.
Mr. Li graduated from the Beijing University School of Law in 1983,
obtained a post-graduate diploma from the Hague Institute of
International Law and Development in 1988 and graduated with a Master of
Law from Harvard Law School in 1992. Mr. Li has been elected by Asia Law
& Practice as a leading lawyer of Asia for 2000, 2001 and 2002 (AsiaLaw
Leading Lawyer Survey) and is a member of the All-China Bar Association.
